American Paper Mate has a long history of innovation. The company was founded in the 1940s and changed the name to Paper Mate in 1949 when they launched a brand new quick-drying pen with the same name. Some years later the Paper Mate Flair pen was launched, which up until today has kept its classic and simple design. One of the latest innovations is Inkjoy, a gel ink which dries immediately but still gives the smooth feeling when writing.
